Tricycles for ages 20 and over?

Tricycles, where most children begin a love affair with cycling, after all three wheels are a much sturdier base to learn off than two. Once I would have laughed at the idea of an adult tricycle, putting them into a catagory for special people and the elderly but this pic my lovely friend Monica found has given me pause to reconsider. The delightful ladies name is Lela Rose and her 4 year old, 3 speed customised trike is for sale at a bargain US$900. You could easily use this around town for errands / groceries (there are hidden compartments in the trailer part!) or for ferrying your friends or chic pooch about.

All yours for just US$900 (dogs not included)

Pashely, a tradional english bicycle manufacturer also make a couple of styles, particularly of note is the Loadstar, you could fit HEAPS in the back of that trailer and be a super-sustainable business. I particularly like the shiny red paintwork on this model, not to mention the blackmesh basket, quite a fetching colour combo. Cranking those little wheels around would be pretty killer with a full load in though!!

Also seen on the streets of Wellington since October 2008 Baxi bicycle taxi's. For $5-$15 they will take you where you need to go or for $50 the full monty tour of town instyle, operatin Wed-Sat evenings. I think this is a great initiative and if I didn't already take my bike with me for nights out on the town i would most definaltly jump onboard! Dont they look like they are having fun?!
